Batteries rapidly lose charge

The batteries rapidly lose their charge. The first batteries in my cap light lost the charge within the first 30min and the dimming progression was easily noticeable. I bought replacement batteries and the same thing occured. Other lights have performed much more reliably and for much longer duration. Chose another brand instead.
