From a strong breeze to a blast of cold air, the L4 Gale Pant will keep you warm and dry with extreme wind protection and moisture resistance. The Gale Pant is part of the two layer soft shell line and is fashioned as a mid/outer layer in the APX™ system. It's great as an outer layer when its chilly outside with low precipitation conditions or as a mid-layer under the L5 Cyclone Pant in wet conditions. This quiet, abrasion resistant fabric with micro-fleece lining provides extreme comfort and extreme protection from wind exposure. Bonded zippers and pockets provide less stress where stitching could degrade the structure of the fabric.

These seem very well made, comfortable, fabric is quiet, looks like it should be weatherproof as advertised and great for outer layering. Definitely for colder weather. Anyone at 200-230 lb probably needs the 2X. Leg zips go above the knee which is good, plenty of pockets that zip closed, covers your back fairly high, comes with suspenders attached - at the sale price it's unbeatable. An incredibly good deal.
